Shooting Ground Rules

 

Spellbrook Clay Shooting Club has always prided itself on its excellent safety record, which it has maintained since inception. The Rules of the Club are intended to enhance the enjoyment of both Members and Non-Members alike, and to ensure that those using the ground are safe. The rules also cover the details of the Membership schemes and other related topics.

  

1.

The Club retains the right to refuse admission to any person, without giving a reason.

2.

No person may shoot at the Club whilst under the influence of alcohol or drugs

3.

The Safety of all persons on the Shooting Ground is of paramount importance and it is the responsibility of all persons shooting at the Ground to ensure that they and all other persons act in a safe and responsible manner.

4.

The Club retains the right to expel, without refund, any person deemed to be acting in a manner, which might lead to injury to themselves or to others.

5.

Guns will be carried Open and Empty at all times, or in a gun slip, bag or case, except when in the Safety Cage on the range and ready to shoot.  Semi Automatics should have an indicator that the Gun is safe.

6.

All shooting will take place inside the safety cages provided and it will be deemed a breach of the safety rules should any person (except in the presence of a Safety Officer or Coach) attempt to shoot at a target outside of the cage.

7.

At least one CPSA Qualified Safety Officer, with First Aid training, must be present at all times the Ground is in use for Shooting.

8.

A First Aid Kit is to be on the Ground, at all times when the Ground is in use.

9.

Shooting Times are to be adhered to, and will be as posted at the ground or as published from time to time.

10.

Members shall be entitled to the discounted prices, provided that their membership is valid and fully paid up for the current year.

11.

These rules may only be altered with the knowledge and approval of the Club Secretary. No other person shall have the right to vary these rules, under any circumstances.

12.

Parking on the Ground is at the risk of the vehicle owner. Neither the Ground nor the Landowners will accept any responsibility for any loss or damage to vehicles, howsoever caused. Cars are parked entirely at the owners' risk.

13.

Shooting must halt if any of the Safety Officers calls a halt, or if any person, vehicle or domestic animal is within sight on the shooting range.

14.

Semi Automatics and Pump Action Shotguns are allowed for use on the Ground, however these must be carried in a way that is safe and can be seen to be safe. All Semi Automatics and Pump Shotguns must be carried in a gun slip, bag or case between Stands.

15.

 Dogs are welcome but must not be allowed to stray onto the Shooting Range.

16.

Self Trapping Rules are provided, and must be followed without exception, and are always on display where required. Any person operating the Trap under these circumstances does so at their own risk and the Club accepts no responsibility for injury from the incorrect operation of the Trap. If you are unsure of how to operate the Trap - please contact one of the Safety Officers at the caravan.

17.

No animal may be fired at whilst on the shooting range.

18. An Air Horn will be sounded to end shooting (1 long tone) - please desist from shooting immediately, the Air Horn will be sounded again to indicate resumption of shooting - (2 short tones).
